Renault Orpington is fine - I have dealt with them for many years. However, the delivery time on new cars is, in my experience, too long. The last new car I bought took 5 months to arrive and this one took 3 months, for standard models with no extras. I think this is way too long and would probably put me off ordering from Renault again.


Very happy we found Renault Orpington as staff are very professional.We were well looked after through our recent visits and Tim Eldridge was very helpful and informative with our Motability car.


Service was OK not amazing. Perhaps include a read of the book 'Raving Fans' as part of customer service training.<br/>I had a lull when waiting to take delivery and had to chase for information as my original sales person left the company. There were no nice touches on collection. Car mats left in the boot etc. I had to go in the car with them to fill up with petrol in order to pick up the new car. Just seems a little bit poor on the overall customer experience i.e. no WOW factor. <br/>I do have a problem with my new vehicle I need to return to the dealership to let them know.<br/>Could do better....!

I already knew what car I wanted as I came through car wow. The salesman was professional throughout my experience and I appreciated the regular updates from him. I particularly appreciated it when I thought I had ordered stuff and didn’t, that he remained calm. Although I used Orpington instead of my nearest, Beckenham. Both didn’t feel like the hard sell.


Sales advisor and team had excellent knowledge of products. Offers and car details explained very well. Customer service was spot on and nothing was too much in regards to information and questions.

From the first moment until the last Max was extreamly helpful and fully informative. He kept me upto date constantly. He even helped me after when I was stuck on a few things. He was willing to give me a call and explain what I needed to do. He couldnt have done more.


My only minor concern was 2 days after I collected the car there was a minor scratch on the drivers door. This may have happened after taking delivery although it may have been there when i picked it up.

TIMOTHY ELDRIDGE, is the consultant that I dealt with. He went out of his way to make the purchase special. Tim, gave me a very bespoke sale. I had a few hiccups, Tim arranged, re arranged and overcome these problems. Tim, arranged a test drive some time ago, and this was why I returned to him to buy the car. Tim Eldridge was really helpful on the delivery, despite some hickups as the previous person with whom we signed the purchase agreement back in July had left the company.


Our salesman Tim was more than helpful but we did not feel that a debit card payment should attract an extra percentage price.


They were helpful and friendly from the start. Quick to respond to queries and to process what I needed. Turn around for new car was exceptional. Tim kept me informed at all times. A pleasure to deal with Tim and the dealership. Would recommend and return to dealership myself.

Efficient and friendly service


Replaced coolant only filled to MIN level rather than to the MAX mark. Replaced brake fluid grossly overfilled in reservoir and seal under it's cap distorted by being overtightened. Replaced engine oil found to be well above Max mark. Tyre pressures set to 2.5bar rather than the correct 2.2bar front and 2.0bar rear. Wheel nuts apparently tightened to 130Nm rather than 110Nm as per Renault Owner's Manual. No actual Service Manager available at Orpington with whom to discuss and resolve all these problems locally.

The service was fine but sadly I was sold the service package with the inclusion of a wash and vac which never took place. When I mentioned it at the dealership all I got was several staff telling me they didn’t wash vans at that dealership, no attempt to resolve the problem or remunerate me for services not received. I had a call several days later to check I was happy with everything so explained the situation and was told a manager would be in touch. Sadly again this didn’t happen so I will probably be unlikely to use the dealership in the future


All good of course, just a bit disappointed they left the sticky tape on the wing mirror that I had used to hold it together before it was repaired.


It was fine on this occasion. In and out in approximately 2 hours. The vehicle wash was offered but it was a particularly awful morning so we thought any kind of wash would have been a complete waste of time.<br/> If the weather was fine and dry we would definitely have accepted the offer.

All good - only minor issue was the quite late pick up of the vehicle on the morning of the service. Had specifically asked for the car to be picked up as early as possible - in the end this did not happen until around 10.30/11 due to other issues with the driver which were not communicated - however apart from that everything was fine

On visiting the dealer sometimes parking is a bit tight. There is always someone there to take the car and park it while you book in. The receptionists are very friendly.


The dealership still hasn't the facility to clean vans. The guy who collected the vehicle tried his best to help me. However if a full valet were possible it would enhance the experience. I did point out this problem last year to you and it's not Orpingtons fault.


The only problem was parking the car when I took it in for the service. The staff at Reception were very good

My car has a very low mileage and has been serviced by Renault Orpington on the last three occasions. All of a sudden I was presented with a list of about four or five items, that they felt needed to be done, two of which were deemed to be needed as soon as possible and I was given quotations. This totalled nearly £1000. I would have thought that at least two of these items could have been mentioned on the last service. I am not at all impressed !

Everything was fine but.....before the last three services I pre mentioned a squeaking sound I get when I touch the brake pedal. Each time I get the remark that oil has been applied and over time the issue will clear up. I can advise that it has not cleared. It is still the case that when I touch the brake pedal I get a squeaking sound.

Generally the service from Renault has been good, except with intermittent faults, these have not been resolved in the past – namely the automatic gear does not engage and stays in first gear. Stopping the car and turning off the engine normally resolves the problem. This fault was reported when we first purchased the car, but the dealer could not duplicate the problem so it has never been fixed. The gears stick about once a month, generally in town driving. The drivers door latch also becomes loose after a while, I have to tighten this up every four to six weeks.

I took my car into the Renault garage at Orpington as the offside headlight had failed. This is, of course, quite serious as it would not have been legal to drive at night with only one headlight. Unfortunately I had an appointment the following evening which I could not alter and that put me in a very difficult position. Despite the garage being very busy at the time they managed to fit me in there and then once I had explained my predicament. Actually, their performance came as no surprise to me as I have always found the staff at the garage to be understanding and helpful. I waited while the work was done and was pleased that it took less than an hour from taking the car in to driving it away with the new headlight in place. Very commendable.

I had a service plan with my car from new in 2015. On 8th March 2018, I phoned Renault Orpington to book a service & an MOT. I explained to the lady, she looked up my details on the system, & confirmed my service plan.<br/>I arranged for an appointment on 23rd March with her. She confirmed that everything was fine & booked in.<br/>After i left my car with the Service Department on the day, i received a phone call saying that my service plan had expired 3 days previously, on 20th March. He told me this meant that i would have to pay for the service at a cost of £179. I tried to argue my point but he said there was nothing he could do.<br/>On my return to the dealer, i expressed my displeasure with the service i had received. I said that when i booked the car in, the lady on the phone had my service plan on the screen in front of her. Why did she not alert me to the fact that my service plan would expire by the time of my appointment?<br/>I received no answer to that question.<br/><br/>When i later returned home, i looked through the paperwork, & was puzzled that the documentation was contradictory.<br/>On the Service Check Sheet, it stated my tire tread depths as 5mm on the front, & 6mm on the rear. However, on the Vehicle Health Check sheet, it stated my tyre depth 7mm on all tyres.<br/>On closer inspection, i had been given the sheet belonging to an completely different customer.<br/>I'm sure that Mrs M Clarkson, vehicle reg LX17VGC, phone number 07868011555, email address michaelclarkson01@virginmedia.com would be very interested to know that Renault Orpington have handed her personal details to a complete stranger.<br/>When i realised, I phoned Renault Orpington immediately. I was told that my sheet would be sent by post, then the person i was speaking to abruptly put the phone down on me. There was no apology, nor even a bit of courtesy of any kind.<br/><br/>My questions:<br/>Why did the lady i booked the service with not warn me that my service plan would expire by the time of my appointment?<br/><br/>How could the vehicle details of the wrong customer have been given to me?<br/>Who was given my details?<br/>Are your staff members even aware of Data Protection Legislation?<br/>Have they received any training of any kind?<br/>Why was the service department so rude so as to put the phone down on me when i drew this mistake to their attention.<br/><br/>What i would like to see are answers to my questions (ALL of them), & a written assurance that these events will not be repeated, & a refund of the £179 to recompense me for the cost of the service, which would have been avoided if i had been alerted to the expiry of my service plan in the first place.

All my contacts with Renault Orpington over recent years (ie since we started using them) have been extremely satisfactory. In particular, I want to single out for praise Mark, on the front desk, and Dave, the driver who collects and returns my car. Also Darren who has now moved from Orpington. Arrangements are easy to make, phone calls are returned promptly, likely work and costs thereof explained upfront, work is done on time, and we have never needed to return the car with problems following work. The service feels personal and friendly. I should mention in particular that when my husband died unexpectedly last summer and I had to pick up the reins, Darren and then Mark could not have been more helpful in bringing me up to speed with all I needed to know and do. (My husband had been the one who looked after the car). I was, and remain, extremely grateful to them for “going the extra mile”.


I always find the staff very friendly and feel very welcome in all respects. This time I had to pay a lot of money for all the repairs. They offered to clean the car but this was done poorly, i.e. the interior was not touched. That left me a bitter taste.

This visit was good but previous visits have been terrible especially booking process, waiting for appointment, rude service desk woman (but service manager James was excellent), waiting hours forcwirk to be done (disabled so difficult), etc. Told Motability Manager that i am looking around for a different car in May after 9 years & 3 Renaults.


My car was collected from my home by one of your employees who was very helpful. When it was deliverered it had been cleaned.

The problem was fixed quickly and efficiently and the underlying issue clearly communicated.


I have some issues about the Renault Orpington. Some of them (like driving in/out from the main road) could not be addressed, then some others could. It would be much better if someone would explain to me which work is scheduled to be done during the service. And then upon collection of the car - which works were done, when is the next service and what is planned. I missed that part. Almost feeling as Renault does not see the car owner able to comprehend the maintenance of the car.


Whenever I have had to get in touch to make an appointment and take my car in for serving, throughout the whole procedure I have always found all staff to be friendly and very efficient and everything is completed speedly. Many thanks to all at Renault - Orpington for all your help ☺


As previously stated, my vechicle went in for service and mot, on collection the horn was inoperative and a side light was inoperative, both of which I believe to part of the mot test, when I pointed this out I was told that I was right about items being part of test and it was unacceptable this had happened and I would contacted regarding this incedent, no contact t was made by dealership to myself

I missed certain information about wether I wanted my plugs and airfilters changed. I was in discussion with a salesman at the time, and the service team couldn't find me although I was still in the building. needless to say I was disappointed.


It's really difficult to mark at Renault Orpington.

Battery was showing “low” a few days after the service and the windscreen washer bottle was empty and had not been touched or topped up at all. Both these items were ticked as checked and clearly had not been checked.

And trip distance reset without notice)<br/><br/>I understand that changes and settings do need to be adjusted during a service but some basic level of care to return to customers preferences should be maintained or it should be made obvious that things have been changed. Good service. I do find the £7 charge for a courtesy car extremely frustrating. My colleagues at work could not believe Renault charge this and have never been charged for a courtesy car.

Orpington’s service has been appaulling I’ve used the services of various branches (Enfield and Croydon for example) and have never received any other than exemplary service. Orpington however have let the brand down and I will be reluctant to use Renault every again.


Wiper blades are causing some streaking on screen so I need to go back.<br/>I am not convinced with their explanation of the cause of low range. I will do as they say and put battery on charge three nights without intervening use. But I suspect battery is less efficient than it should be.


It was what I expected, very good.<br/>Just waiting for a call from them about when they are going to fit the rear seatbelt that they are replacing under warranty.

Efficient, as always, but surprised (on this occasion only) that no 'follow-up' has been received. Not a problem.


There was a thorough check on the engine as I had some problems. The repair to some worn parts has corrected the problem. The cost was much more than I was expecting. So although I was told the battery needed to be replaced for £200 I declined as I could not afford it. Later it was checked elsewhere and found to be ok.


They offered to clean the vehicle in and outside. It was partly cleaned externally and all they did was wipe the dirt off the car. It was not washed, inside not cleaned and worst of all, my steering wheel makes a creaking sound when I turn it. Like they did not replace the steering oil. I don’t know what they did to it.

It was a bit busy at drop off. No where to park vehicle and staff were extremely busy. As I was on my way to work this was not particularly helpful. On my return to collect the vehicle, staff were a lot more attentive


I had a replacement tyre fitted. within 1 week, the tyre pressure light cam on. For convenience,I had to go to my local garage to check the tyres None of the pressures were correct. I would expect the checking of all the tyre pressures to be checked during the service and corrected if required. I don't think this was done.

As always 1st class service. The "problem" is very tight parking but the staff happy to get the car out of the parking space if their help is required. the


Warning message re tyre pressure appeared a few days after routine service. Unsure of car safety so drove to Service Centre informed it was a computer error and was shown how to reset error message. Slightly concerned however as to trusting computer messages in future!


As always I was treated extremely well and the work carried was of the usual high standard. I have now owned a Renault for 17 years and would recommend it to anyone.

There is nowhere to park when you drop vehicle off if it is before they open. When picking it up they gave me my keys and I had to find the car in the car park. They offered to clean the car and the car was not cleaned at all.


All went fine. Car went in for an MOT and 5 year service. Only problem was the car was washed and there was water inside on the passenger sill and foot well were I guess the car had been spray washed and the passenger door had not been closed correctly.

The problem happened the weekend before Christmas. I rang Renault Orpington the first day they were open. Although they couldn't book me in til 4/1, as I was going away, they agreed I could bring it in that day. They said if they got a moment they would look at the fault earlier. They did this, contacted me, ordered the part, kept me informed and I collected it on 2/1. Everyone was very helpful.

Problem rapidly diagnosed but had to wait a couple of days for the spare part.


In general v helpful with the exception of one employee who was both rude & dismissive and completely uninformed about the problem we were having. I only had one telephone conversation with him. The gentleman that dealt with the problem for the majority of the time was the complete opposite and took the time to explain the problem & the process.

Every time I liaise with Renault Orpington they confuse my service plan details and call me to say I haven’t got one. I then have to go over the same conversation every time to get them to check records and realise I do have a service plan - very frustrating when each time it happens I’m told it definately won’t happen again

Usually very difficult to find a parking space, and cars parked so close together it is difficult to get in or out of the car, and difficult to manoeuvre around the site.<br/>Communication about the progress of the repair is generally poor - has to be chased.


Although booking online gave me a appointment of 1oc pm lunchtime Orpington informed us, they did their best to make sure our car received immediate attention when they returned.


Had issue with Tyre pressure sensor. Was booked in after about 3 weeks. After waiting an hour for them to start looking i was told there is a tyre pressure sensor fault. NO stock!. Had to go back a 2 weeks late. After an hour the vehicle was ready to collect. Then i was told they didn't replace the sensor it had come loose so it was just re-secured. So this was never looked at in the first place. Then a moth later had a service which was fine. Then got a phone call two weeks ago saying they had my sensor now in stock and when would i like it fitted!

Everything was perfect!


Firstly, Renault did not offer us a replacement maintenance plan when the 3yr plan ran out. So we had to pay for the latest service - which was fine. Secondly, we had at previous services complained about a creaking from the front n/s. Renault Orpington claimed to not find anything whilst under warranty. Now they’ve found it and the broken spring coil was rusty proving it was broken for some time. They wanted £328 to replace it and £150 to do the brake pads. They also said we should replace the PAIR of spring coils at a cost of over £640! I took the car away and had the work done at my local garage for £268.50 which included an MOT. All parts came from the Renault dealer in Beckenham -£56 for the coil spring and £40 for the brake pads. How does Orpington justify £328 for labour and parts when the part is only £56? How do they justify £150 for labour and parts for the brake pads when the parts are £40? I feel it is disgraceful that getting your car fixed in a min dealer is so expensive and exploitative. What compensation will you offer us for not finding the fault under warranty? Thanks

When I arrived I had trouble parking. I asked at reception if I could take the car straight to the service area. I took my Renault van into Orpingtion as had warning lights on dashboard. I received a video of underneath of van which showed rubber pipes and censer had been chewed by a rodent (fox). When I asked what I can do to stop this happening again the reply was that some people put wire mesh underneath!!! <br/>I’ve looked into this and apparently the rubber pipes are made from animal fat which attracts rodents (fox)

After picking up the vehicle and when I got home I felt the clutch to be very high in the pedal, and in my laymans experience thought the clutch was ending its life span.I discussed this with the sales agent on that day. (Last Saturday) and he informed me a engineer would call me to discuss this. As of today's date I have yet to receive a call. Also now the engine management system light has come on. I do feel on a vehicle that is only a couple of years old and has just had all its checks prior to handover should not be happening so soon. The car had some scuff and something stuck to the door handle. A new part was being ordered but I have not been notified about when it will be fitted.I also have questioned for the second time,the breaks feeling not has sharp as I think they should be. This makes me think they are worn down a bit. The previous Renault employee who drove the car may have been heavy on the breaks. I would like assurances on this. Other than that the car is very enjoyable to drive. Salesman David was very good and fair. I look forward to the couple of points I have raised being sorted. Thank you!

Martin Moore sold me my Kadjar. He was fantastic. He was not in the least bit pushy, he put me at rest, reassured me that no question was too silly. I came to the show room to have a quick look at the Dusters as I was thinking that it might be time to start thinking about buying a new car in a few months time. No questions, but I was very impressed with the first class service offered by Martin Moore. One very small complaint is that, after 200 miles, I received a tyre pressure warning. When checking the pressures I found that they were all at 40psi. I believe the cars come from the manufacturers over inflated, and this should have been picked up during the pre delivery inspection.

The vehicle had a scratch to the front grill which has been badly touched up, also it was covers in white clay underneath where it obviously had been in a field, I had to take it & get it jet washed properly , I think the vehicle should of been checked for these problems before hand over as I now have to return the vehicle to have a smart repair done, for this to happen on a new car I think is very below par !!!

No. With regard to finance I made it clear from the start that I was paying cash and didn't want finance so there was no point offering it. Although I wasn't introduced to the after sales team we discussed service and maintence and I was happy. Generally an excellent experience and David was fantastic. Plenty of time given and everything explained exceptionally well. 10 out of 10 (and I don't ever say that). I also don't normally answer these surveys and have only done so on this occasion because I was so pleased with the service provided

I am extremely disappointed with the after care service I have had. Hardly had the car anytime at all and had two faults. On both occasions I have found the service awful and mislead about what's happening to my car. Been told twice they would "wash and clean" as they were trying to compensate for having issues, neither time this was done. Also on both occasions u was told I would need to pay if I wanted a courtsey car, given its a BRAND new car and there are two faults existing on it I found this appalling. Would not recommend and I am very glad I did not purchase any of those aftercare packages as I would not want to be tied into this dealership. Seriously considering having to sell or return this car if there are any more faults as I have had to lose a days pay today to be able to drop it off.

When I received the car, the wheel arches were covered in what can only be described as a white cement/filler like substance. To my dismay this was also smeared on the bodywork on the back bumper paintwork and both drivers side wheel arch paintwork. It has taken me all weekend to carefully try and remove the substance without damaging the paintwork which has been difficult. I was also promised that the car would be driven up on a trailer, not by someone driving it up and putting 200 miles on the car. What was this substance that my car was covered in? did it leave the dealership looking like that??

Sorry the first form I submitted was incorrect as we were offered finance but it was not relevant as we payed cash. Also your branch is approx 60 miles from us so we would use a closer branch for after sales. However we had need to return to the branch to have a cosmetic dash part replaced and David Rowe handled the problem in an excellent manner providing fuel compensation for the journey.

The answer to your first question is difficult to answer. I like my Clio greatly but have to say am somewhat disappointed how a particular matter was dealt with by the dealership. I bought the car from Timothy Eldridge who assured me before I purchased the vehicle that there had only been 1 previous owner - namely the Renault garage in Orpington. I agreed to purchase the car on this basis. When my V5C document arrived it clearly stated that there had been 2 previous owners before me. When I contacted Mr Eldridge re. this he was surprised. After a considerable time he came back to me and stated it was some sort of error on their part with re-taxing the car. I am still confused re. this as you don't re-register the car to re tax it. I pointed out that I felt I had been misled by him re. this issue and that any assurance he gave me was actually worthless if the official documentation from the DVLA stated otherwise. To this end I then contacted the DVLA myself to understand the keeper history of my car as I felt this was the only way to get to the truth. After much form filling and making a payment to access this information from the DVLA they themselves issued me with a replacement V5C. I feel that Mr Eldridge misinformed me from the outset and then didn't deal with the matter to an effective resolution. I regard this as poor customer service as the 'error' was with Renault and not with me. It is on this basis that I would not recommend the Orpington dealership to a friend. Grateful for your response re. this matter.

The car had damaged body work and u haven't heard anything from the dealer in over a week so I brought a car and it's stayed in the dealership.ever since have decided to reject the car and get a refund tomorrow.you should be ashamed of your sales man and manager at Orpington.

In all honesty if it wasn't for the service I have received from Rob over the last few years I would not have been back to purchase another Renault as I have a heck of a time with the service department.

The only thing I was not sure about ie the Service book /Log. I can`t find a service book. However there is some pages inside the actual owners manual. Would you kindly let me know if those pages form the actual Log book. Thank you. Also I was rather dissapointed that there was a small knock in the paintwork which was not visible when we looked over the car. To be fair you had only got the car in that morning and it was filthy dirty. We only saw it when we came to pick it up It is on the Passenger door on the Drivers side. The car is fantastic we are delighted with the spec of the car the equipment and fittings inside are first class.It just put a bit of a damper on the occasion buying a car that is only 4/5 months old. I would ecpect the odd knock on a second hand car but that is a place I would not expect to find one.

It took 4 weeks before this vehicle (which I love) to be delivered to Orpington. Although Martin was extremely helpful - we were let down by management. We were told repeatedly that the car was on it's way - only for management to fail to deliver the right information. We were lied to time and time again. My car was then delivered from Southampton to Manchester when Martin asked for it to be delivered to Orpington - but no one was listening. Very poor service on management. I have no problem with all the help that Martin gave us.

As I live 300 miles from the garage some things on survey don't apply. The dealership was friendly and the salesman Leon Wolf was great, the car was cleaned and very presentable, and only wish my local dealers were as good. Will certainly use again.
