Very pleased with the dealer, wrong car arrived, but it was soon sorted, waiting for the right car to arrive


Jamie the salesman was very professional, from speaking to him on the phone he came across very genuine, that’s why I decided to take out a PCP. Once meeting Jamie he had excellent customer service and made sure I was happy with my purchase,he made sure I understood everything about the car with the handover, and even drove it for me as it was in a tight space, which I was very grateful.


I cannot fault the dealership at all. Our salesperson John was brilliant, he listened to our needs and made sure we got the perfect vehicle for those needs. It's the first time I've got a car through the motability scheme and I am so impressed with how easy it was, the dealership did everything for me and very quickly too! We were due to go on holiday and the dealership ensured we had our new car to go away in. I can't thank them enough.

after contacting Renault by phone to make a appointment with Jamie about me getting a car on disability there was no need for me to look elsewhere has Jamie met my needs & requirements, when walking through the door of the day I was met by a smile and offer of a beverage. I explained I was on holiday for the next 2 weeks abroad satisfied car would be ready on my return which it was as Jamie informed me by phone while I was sunbathing by the pool, I will never need to look anywhere else for a car has Jamie has a very happy returnable customer.


My vehicle has been provided under the Motability scheme, however the sales advisor (Heather) at Renault Cardiff was wonderful from start to finish.

I purchased my car over the Easter break and during a promotion event. I appreciate that this caused the showroom to be especially busy. I could not visit the showroom, so tried to speak to someone about purchasing over the phone. It took a great many calls before finally being able to speak to someone other than the receptionist (who was always helpful and apologetic). I finally made contact via email and was eventually contacted by one of the sales team who saw me through the sale very smoothly. However, I do feel that extra staff are warranted during such extremely busy periods so that customers can be helped at the moment they contact the showroom. I was rather anxious that I would miss out on the promotion, as I could not get to speak to anyone when I phoned, or would have had to purchase my new car from another retailer. However, I cannot fault the support I received from the sales person who thanked me for my patience and made the part exchange of my car, and the purchase of the new one so painless. She was enormously helpful and contacted me regularly with updates whilst waiting for delivery of the new vehicle. Speedy finance arrangements and an informative handover were very helpful and I now thoroughly enjoying my new Renault Captur.

Once ordered car tried to contact sales rep via telephone and email without reply. Had to speak to his supervisor in order to get a response. However, once I had had this response the sales rep did respond to me on a consistent basis. As stated above-no motability pack provided upon collection of the car which explains the features of the scheme.

Renault have always been good with customers


Purchasing the car was OK, but the Finace department took 11 days to sort out the refund for me to pay off the personal loan, meaning I was chased by my bank in letter form and by telephone, I rung the dealers 10 times over 3 days before I had a response. The financial manager Neil Williams, totally mislead me, and told me Renault would pay off the load directly within 4 days, this was totally inaccurate. I was going to purchase a Clio for my son, but due to my negative experience, I have bought a different make of car for my son.

I had previously visited the Bridgend branch to discuss my requirements, however did not appreciate the hard-sell from the sales assistant. Having visited the Cardiff garage previously for a recall on a older vehicle, I decided to pop into the Cardiff store instead. From the point of initial enquiry, Kevin was extremely attentive and listened to my requirements, helping to source a deal which suited me personally rather than pushing particular packages on me. They’re not quick to great you when you walk in but sometimes it’s nice to browse without being pestered. Kevin who sold us the car was amazing , he was friendly and helpful and was fantastic with our children who could of got bored and distracted but he prevented that with a bit of banter. I was really pleased with the purchase of my new car everything was explained to me Jamie set the sat nav up for me he was really helpful nothing was too much trouble for him i would recommend Renault Cardiff to anyone x


One disappointment was the satellite navigation system supplied with the car. It contained only UK maps when I had made it clear from the outset that I required European maps. I was given incorrect information about downloading the desired maps and, in the end, had to pay £119 for them. Renault agreed to repay me £100 for this. I was also a little disappointed that no suitable vehicle was available for test driving until just a few days before delivery and that I had to wait for the actual car I purchased before I could test it. Other than that, I was impressed with the service I received and the friendly reception every time I visited the dealership.


Heather was absolutely fantastic. She explained everything to us and made recommendations based on what we had told her. She always made time for us even if it meant her staying on a little bit longer. She also remembered personal touches when we saw her about. I could not thank her enough for her help in buying our new car. I would recommend her and Renault to our friends and family!

Being a mobility customer for several years I have never been offered a test drive with all previous cars. I was asked instantantly when I showed intetest in the captur if i would like to test drive one. My wife and I, visited Renault with an intention of punching a Dacia, unfortunately it did not meet up to our requirements, this is where Renault’s representative came to our rescue, we eventually purchased a Kadjar.


I had previously had and accident in my Renault car, I was unsure of how to go about the gap Insurance, so I spoke to both Neil Hudson and Neil Williams about this, they were very sympathetic about this and guided me down the right road. Neil Williams also rang the insurers and advised them to fast forward the monies as they were well over the guarantied time. During the period of my car being written of, they kept in contact with me and helped me choose another car to get me back on the road. I was very nurvious as you could imagine, however on speaking to them they put me at ease. On my return home with my new captur , I received a phone call to make sure that my journey home was pleasurable and safe. I found not only these two fellas very helpful but also the other staff I encountered during my visits were most professional and sympathetic to my needs. I would have no hesitation in recommending Renault Cardiff to my friends and family for the professional, prompt and polite service I received during my stressful time. I had a soaking wet car. It was taken in same day but no hire cars availible had to return later in day. Outside agency rentals poor. Work took 8 not 3 days as predicted. But it was done and had no problem since. Could not understand how car design allowed water to enter car. Driven renault for yrs but this was a big problem. I must say joe at used car office from where i purchased car was quick to sort car repair and apoligise. Cannot umderstand why we have to have rental cars. Mine stank of cigarettes and gussled fuel. Yes it was paid for but not a like for like vehicle. Needs must and car had to go in. Enjoying my new car again now!

I arranged for my car to be collected from home. Renault rang me the day before to let me know the collection time and were spot on. My car was returned within a few hours. Excellent service.


"Whilst you wait 90 minute service booked", advised John Stokes your service adviser that I was in a bit of a rush...he turned the car around in just over an hour and supplied lovely coffee and friendly service when I waited. Everyone was friendly and pleasant at the dealership, from the receptionist, to the salesman I purchased the car from, to the chap cleaning the cars in the showroom. I asked for an MOT early to bring it in line with my service date which itself is required to continue to validate my extended warranty. I had to take it 3 times for this mot to be completed which eventually was completed to my satisfaction. One fault was picked up and I was told that the warranty company would be contacted and I would be advised if this work was approved. It has been 3 weeks and no contact. I chased this up by phone to be told there is no record of a faulty part so the warranty company haven’t even been contacted.

We’ve not used your garage before (over an hours drive from our home) but we were pleased with the service and the experience overall. We didn’t think the brakes on our Kangoo were working properly and these are now definitely better although sometimes still feel a bit ‘soft’. But pleased with the whole servicing experience, including use of a courtesy car. Will now probably book our other Renault car (a Clio) in for a service too, based on this first experience. I waited whilst the servicing was carried out in a relaxed and comfortable sitting area,with beverages and plenty of readings material to hand.


My car was picked up from my home in accordance with agreed arrangements and was returned in good time.


As a background to my association with Renault, I purchased my new Captur last year. I had for many years had Vauxhall cars and due to a malfunction on my aged car had to hire a car, and visited a local car hire firm who specialise in Vauxhall(GM). By this time I had to address changing my car but on arriving to collect the hire car realised I had a CAPTUR and the next three days change my opinion and for the first time in my motoring life purchased a new car, so thoroughly satisfied and supporting the comments above.


When the car was collected I had to pay for an element of the work but as my adviser was not there the staff were unable to give me a breakdown of the cost of work carried out. I had to wait until my adviser returned and sent me an email to see the work carried out and costs incurred. This was a few days after I had collected the car.

Took my capture in for its service, advised at the time my clutch/gears felt heavy. Was told it epild cost £475 to investigate. Ive only had it 7 months thought this wpupd be covered by the warranty. Extremely disappointed. Won't be recommending my firends/family to go with Renault.

All very good apart from misunderstandings regarding tyre pressures, I trusted the garage to set them right and the very next day the warning light came on resulting in us visiting another garage.


I had a very bad experience with you. I had to phone the dealership, put a Google review, send a complaint by email, put a review on Facebook and finally the Manager called me to solve my problem. Not sure why you are chasing me after 2 months of my service. It is very odd that your services are sending me texts and emails claiming my car has been with you 1 month ago. I believe you need to review all of your services.


I've been a customer of Renault Cardiff for many years and I haven't a bad word to say about them. I'm always pleasantly greeted when I arrive and I feel I have built up a relationship with John in customer services who always puts me at ease, offers a tea or coffee and is honest about the time frames. He keeps in touch regarding future bookings, always listens and is accommodating with my needs in regards to working around my working hours.

When I purchased the car I did not have a locking wheel nut key & therefore I was unable to change my tyres. When I phoned to question Renault on this they were very patronising & had told me that I’d probably taken it out of the car and forgotten to put it back in! I found this very rude. I was told that I would be contacted regarding this problem but no one contacted me for 2 weeks and therefore I had to keep ringing. It has now been sorted, but it was not handled appropriately. My car was booked in for parts to be changed - I had to wait for the parts to be delivered, was told that they had been delivered & booked my car in, to then be told that there was a mistake on the system a week later & I would have to wait longer. Very unclear and did not seem organised at all.

I am not encouraged to buy another Renault. The salesman lied on a couple of occasions when buying the car. After a service there was an oil leak which was due to the oil cartridge cover not fully screwed on, but the dealership did not believe me and said it was due to an oil seal. I have corrosion to 2 wheels, which has been repaired under warranty, but there is issues with the finish and I am still waiting to hear from them. Additionally I have had my drive cleaned at my expense. Last week my Rlink failed and is not powering up, so I have no radio,nav,reverse sensors etc. Renault cannot get a courtesy car to book me in for another 5 weeks.

I lead over a thousand people across Wales who offer services in many guises, but Mathew was in every way, an absolute exemplar of customer service from the second I walked into the branch. Having had a rough couple of months trying to get an issue resolved at Swansea to no avail, patience was wearing thin and I have to say, Matthew immediately took ownership of my issue, immediately calling a specialist out to my car to identify what Swansea had failed to indentify for months. Within what appeared to be a nano second, my car was booked in for the following week, courtesy car sorted. The repair was completed to an exceptional standard but all the way through the repair Matthew kept me informed of actions taken and even took time to notify of other essential works that needed completion ASAP. I think at one stage I even received video footage of my break disks wearing thin. Mathew was a credit to the branch and indeed to Renault and having been a customer for over fifteen years, was undoubtedly the best I have ever had the pleasure to deal with. As my vehicle was handed back to me, I voiced one concern about a worming effect that had appeared in my alloys, despite the fact that they had not been curbed or damaged by other means. Yet again, Mathew pulled out all the stops and checked to see if the issue was covered under warranty ( which it was), again the car was booked in / courtesy car sorted and the wheels came back to me gleaming! That was the icing on the cake and upon returning home I said to my partner that I have to write in and offer maximum praise to the young man that had sorted everything for me. This email beat me to it, as I have been away on holiday, but in closure, the service I received was exceptional and I hope that this message in its entirety gets passed onto Mathew accordingly. I appreciate both the quality of reception and service provided at the Penarth Road Cardiff workshop and also the facilities provided for those customers who wait in the showroom.


I have been taking my cars to Renault Cardiff for many years always had good service. One point though it is getting difficult to find somewhere to park there are too many spaces that are reserved for other uses not many left for customers to park up and this was at 8.15 am.


A really kind and friendly group of people work here: I've never had any problems and will keep coming back.


No one on reception on my arrival and other staff not yes interested not attentive staff passing over as not their dept making me wait for his college on the next desk answered the phone.


My compliments to the staff at Cardiff, Matthew Dennis is an outstanding asset.


Waited for three weeks to get a courtesy vehicle the first time, then Renault Cardiff had my car for 4 days and vehicle still knocked after collection then again had to wait 2 weeks for car to be looked at and now without vehicle for the duration of the repair

This was a very mixed experience - I have on several occasions dealt with John on the service desk, who is always professional and courteous. However, on this occasion, I had several conversation with Matthew, initially phoning me with a list of issues he was advising were wrong with the car, but no timeline for when the window motor fault would be resolved. When I called 2 working days later, to enquire about progress, Matthew was unaware that the vehicle was still at the dealership. During a call the next day when Matthew rang to advise that a component has been broken during the work being undertake, he laughed when I referred to the car 'you forgot you had'. having spent almost £600 on a window motor (which is a know fault), I did not share his amusement. The car was at the dealership for 5 working days !When collected, although the outside has clearly been jet washed, the inside had, if anything, received a cursory clean. This does not meet the standard I expect, and have received in the past.

The standard of work carried out is very good but the staff just do not call to say the vehicle is ready or when it is likely to be complete. The first visit for a routine service and fault I was told the car would be ready at 5.00pm and arrived at 4.50 to see the car coming of the ramp. I did not leave until 6.15 another customer received at text at 5.00 to say her car was ready and she was still there when I left. Is it lack of staff , training ? I don't know but it is letting you down and leave me questioning myself on using Renault in the future.

The car was collected promptly and returned in immaculate condition by ever efficient Barrie. I believe that is because I have regularly had it checked and serviced by Renault. Their high standards of work have saved me money and I can rely on their advice to be the best for me and my car. The lack of communication at the start was not a good customer service experience. The car was only 15 months old and in the garage for 30 days. The hire car first provided was not suitable as I couldn’t fit my baby’s pushchair into the boot - that took nearly two weeks to resolve and to get a replacement vehicle which was too long in my opinion as we couldn’t go out as a family without the pushchair as I also have a 5 year old. More phonecalls to keep me updated as the car was in for such a long period would have been appreciated - I had to chase for every update.

I am appauled that i have bought a car where i was promised 2 free services. I have a signed document completed by the person that sold me my car and still i am having to chase renault cardiff for it although i was promised I'd be kept informed about the matter. In relation to your customer service for the car having a service it was brilliant but the fact i personally think you have misold me my car is appauling. If i were to miss a payment on my finance i would be penalised yet you have done this and have not taken ownership of the fault.

MoT test showed a suspension fault. Car was booked for service as well. Test, service and repair was done in three hours and car returned at stated time in perfect condition. We took our car in for an MOT. It did fail on a reflector :( we live quite far away approx a 40 min drive and I have a young baby . We returned a few days later as the part needed to be ordered. Excellent service from John and the team . I called when I was on the way so John and the mechanic got the part ready and did all they needed while I waited in the car with the baby as not to disturb the sleeping baby . My vehicle was in for a MOT, during the safety inspection an oil leak was spotted. This did not affect the MOT but I was informed about it and the fault rectified at a fair price during the same visit.


Always have a great experience at Renault Cardiff, staff are very friendly and helpful, always keeping me up to date even if I have a long wait.


There were some parts left in the car that I couldn’t identify and the cleaning of the car seemed quite superficial as the foot wells still had bits in them so did not appear to have been cleaned. Apart from that everything was fine.

I have visited this garage twice, first time I booked their curtesy car but was then told I couldn't take my very small hairless dog in it incase someone used it after me with an allergy, this is ridiculous as I might have eaten a a packets of peanuts in the car and someone with a peanut allergy could use the car after me. 2nd visit I did not request a curtesy car, I was asked if I needed a lift anywhere and when I replied yes back home, approx 2.5 miles I was told this was not possible


I had good service from start to finish from service manager Mr John Stokes and rest of the staff.

The servicing gentleman was very friendly and tried to resolve the problems that the dealership we bought our car from created. He wasn’t able to fully resolve them but tried his best and offered me solutions. He also explained the servicing plans available to us well and made it as stressfree as he could given the circumstances. He also gave us a free key holder and tried to resolve the problems we have had obtaining our servicing booklet. He wasn’t able to help with this in the end but I felt confident he was trying his best to give us a good experience at Renault cardiff after being let down by our dealer in Gloucester.

Whilst I am happy with my new car i was a little disappointed with the finish of the car I understand it's a 2013 plate and you always pick up scratches and chips I was told £105 was all the car needed to refurb 2 wheels and buff or mop the bonnet and front panel circled in yellow however on viewing the car it was then noted that 3 wheels needed to be done not 2 so I would like to know if that was the resin behind the paint work not finished to the standard I expected in saying that the salesman was very helpful 10 out of 10 sorry to have to bring this to your attention but I feel I have to mention it as I was a bit disappointed

Following the delivery to my home of my new used car on Thursday 27th July 2017, I saw new damage to its bonnet. I immediately phoned to register this fault, but was unable to speak to the sales executive, David Cornish until that evening. I spoke to his manager today,Tuesday 8th August 2017 and it is his contention that this was existing damage rather than new. I do not accept this, having photographed the car prior to its purchase and it can be seen that there is no damage at all to the bonnet area around the Mini emblem. I am being stonewalled by the used car manager, with no recourse other than to register this as a formal complaint. I have the documentary proof to show that this is new damage that has occurred between my viewing the car and its delivery. Why should I have to pay for a repair that was not of my making ? I may have expected this from a small used car outlet but not from Renault. I ask that an impartial manager review my evidence and settle this dispute before further action is taken under the Consumer Rights Act. Please contact me via email or phone. Very pleased with my purchase. The car was in excellent condition with low mileage. Also priced very well which saved the usual haggling for a used car (which I hate). The salesman I dealt with, Joe, was very professional. Made the whole process very easy. He explained the benefits of the finance and insurances he was able to offer without ever being pushy. I paid to have my vehicle delivered to my address therefore the aftersales department was not applicable. Although the Sales Representative specifically requested that the Valet's clean the roof this was not actioned. I was, however, offered the option of getting the roof cleaned and billing the Valets which would have been difficult for me to achieve as I use the van daily for work therefore I chose to clean it myself. I did not expect, however, to receive a vehicle with the roof covered in bird droppings and therefore it was very difficult to remove these stubborn stains. I did, however, appreciate the Sales Representative's offer. I was going to ask for a touch up stick for future use but I have not found the time to make this request. Overall I am very happy with my van and would still recommend Renault Cardiff.

Following an acceptable experience and having owned the car for two weeks I am, so far, very happy with my new vehicle. I do however have a couple of comments which concern me. I asked if it would be possible to change the 19 inch wheels for the 17 inch wheels and was told that this would not be a problem and they were changed. The vehicle had only covered 2300 miles so I am very surprised to see that the two replacement front tyres only have between 3 and 4 mm of tread remaining. I would have expected to have replacement tyres commensurate with the mileage covered by the vehicle. Secondly I was promised a touch- in paint stick in Flame Red to repair a minor but deep scratch on a door sill which was not there when I viewed the car. Having not quibbled about the deal offered and paying £17400 for the car I feel a bit shortchanged in being given 2 tyres which would fail an MOT on this 7 month old car with 2300 miles on the clock before it reaches it's first birthday. Your comments would be appreciated.

Dissapointed that the car developed a fault after 150 miles, the polution sensor failed and has now been fixed by Martins in Basingstoke. Renault at Oxford were totaly usless and most un-helpfull. For a fault like this to happen so soon I find most disheartning. No to the abve questions as these were n/a.

I picked my car up on the 31st of May and a couple of days later drove over a speed bump and there was a rubbing noise coming from the front suspension also the air con doesn't work. ( I assumed coming from a Renault dealer I wouldn't have to check over to see if everything worked) I'm a bit dissdpointed that I have to wait over two weeks for it to be seen .

There were some marks/chip marks on the paintwork that should have been dealt with before I arranged to collect the car. None of which were dealt with. I asked if my car could arrange be taken in to Swansea for these issues to be sorted and that was agreed. David Cornish did explain that the chip marks and other marks just needed a touch up and he did give me some paint. I subsequently emailed David asking if he could arrange for mycar to go in to Swansea but I haven't had a response which is disappointing. I have tried to sort the chip marks myself which isn't ideal. I have also had to touch up some marks on the front of the car. So whilst I'm pleased with the car in general I am very disappointed that these were not sorted before the car was handed over as I had clearly mentioned all of these marks when I viewed the car.

I've contacted the DVLA, but they can't help me. I e-mailed Will Gannon twice, but didn't receive a reply. When I called, the sales person wasn't interested, and told me I just had to wait. It's nearly 4 weeks since changing the vehicle, but still no log book, and nobody is willing to help.

Please confirm what form of vehicle inspection was carried out before collection, if any? It appears that no checks were actually carried out before sale of the vehicle as within 24 hours of collection the tyre pressure warning came on, after driving from Cardiff to Stoke. The following morning I checked the 4 tyre pressures which were between 25 & 28 psi, not the recommended 34 front & 30 rear psi. Road safety?? The handbrake is so slack it will not hold the vehicle on any incline, no matter how slight. The rear spoiler on the rear hatch door catches the roof & hinges & has started to rub the paintwork so the undercoat colour is now visible. I have taken the car to our local Renault dealer who have photographed the defect, & are waiting for feedback from Renault. How many more problems might I find, I have only owned the car for 1 1/2 weeks I am not impressed. Are these the sort of issues I should get used to now I have chosen a Renault?

Sales staff were helpful, courteous and professional. I was correctly directed to appropriate web sites for proceeding with electricity access and supply purposes from Chargemaster. This part of the exercise has proved to be less than straightforward and quite complex and time consuming. I had to rely on support from family members who understood the complexities of scanning and sending documents, forms and photos to Chargemaster. Renault staff at Cardiff were very efficient in providing information which was requested and have been most helpful in providing re-charging facilities while my own arrangements are being set up. In hindsight, it may be considered by you that sales staff take a more pro-active role in assisting customers to facilitate supply procedures when purchasing electric vehicles.

I had to actively seek a salesman despot them watching me waited noby the vehicle and looking at it in the cold for 10 minutes. The vehicle was scratched and damaged when I turned up to collect the car. The car was booked in for touch up and few other issues and warning lights on dashboard. When I turned up the woman at the reception desk was very unhelpful and uninterested. Despite driving the 35 miles back to Cardiff as requested I was told no time was had to look at the warning lights and issues and I was lucky that I had my paintwork sorted. I intend to take this further

I purchased my new pre registered vehicle from you and immediately noticed a defect on the interior roof. I am currently waiting for this to be rectified. In the process of this being done I have had to return my new car to the garage within the first week of owning it and have been left with a strong turps like smell within the vehicle as attempts to remove the defect failed. Again not expected on a new vehicle. At this time I am a slightly disappointed customer as I feel this defect should have been picked up when the car allegedly had a valet twice before I collected it.

I would like to know why the car was not checked over thoroughly prior to my collecting it by an experienced mechanic. I have had a catalogue of problems since collecting it which I hope have now all been completed. I was also informed when I asked for the vehicle to be completely checked when it came back into your workshop that you 'do not go looking for work' I realise that this was not a jaguar I was purchasing but to me it is my means of transport and I need it to carry on my day to day life and would prefer not to have it in your workshop.

No questions but two comments 1. I was told where aftersales was located but not 'introduced' as such. Given the distance I live from Cardiff it is unlikely I will use aftersales. 2. Throughout completing the paperwork at the salesman's desk his radio was playing. This was distracting and is not, in my view, not professional. It is not the environment in which I would choose to conduct business. At the very least I would have expected to be asked if I would prefer the radio to be switched off.
