The development of the Renault Laguna

The Renault Laguna is a large family car suitable for school runs, day trips and holidays abroad. The first Laguna was launched in 1993, and it initially started its life as a hatchback - the family friendly estate was later introduced in 1995. The Renault Laguna underwent a redesign in 1998, where the most noticeable changes were an altered bonnet, circular fog lights and an enhanced engine.

The second generation of the Renault Laguna was launched in 2000, where the engine had been improved even further and the equipment was designed to last longer. This version of the Renault Laguna was considered to be the safest vehicle in the UK at the time, and was the first vehicle in Europe to be awarded 5 stars in the EuroNCAP crash test results. The Laguna also featured a Renault Card keyless ignition used to unlock and start the vehicle. The car underwent a slight redesign in 2005, where the air intake at the front of the vehicle was made to match that of the Renault Mégane.

The current Renault Laguna

The third and current generation of the Renault Laguna was released in 2007, and comes in a 5-door liftback, a 5-door estate and a 3-door coupé. The vehicle uses state-of-the-art technology and safety features to ensure that the Renault Laguna is a comfortable and efficient car to drive. The Renault Laguna Coupé has 4-wheel steering to give drivers expert handling and precision. The vehicle also has an integrated TomTom complete with high quality screen and traffic information. Meanwhile, the Renault Laguna Hatch and Renault Sport Tourer come with a panoramic sun roof and a Bose audio system which delivers top quality music throughout the interior. There are also adaptable seats that can be put down for a maximum loading area.
